My Problem

I like the stock market, new inventions, innovations, where companies are headed, looking at the future.

Plus I like making money.

I watched business shows on TV, listened to podcasts, followed people I respect on YouTube and on X.

And I took lots and lots of notes, especially stock price predictions.

Over 100 pages worth of notes, disorganized and eventually outdated.

Then I got a three ring binder and started keeping notes on individual companies, but it wasn’t very portable.

Plus, I couldn’t see the whole picture the way I could see it in my brokerage account.

My stock broker, one of the biggest in the country, has watchlists but I could not add in my own stock price targets.

I called them up, twice, to ask them to add that feature to their watchlists, that didn’t get me very far.

Yes, no, maybe, anything else we can do for you today?

I searched everywhere but couldn’t find what I was looking for.

I finally created my own spreadsheet but updating it manually was a pain in the butt.

My Solution

Then I created a novel spreadsheet that pulls stock prices straight into my sheet while letting me set my own price targets exactly where I wanted them, going five years out!

I finally had one place to put all of the information I had.

And when the stock market opened up and my sheet came alive, I fell in love.

Is it possible to fall in love with a spreadhseet?

How It Works

This is a Google Finance Spreadsheet Template, to use it you will need a Google account, it’s free.

The stock prices are delayed by 20 minutes, for a Long-Term Investor, that’s good enough.

Every row represents a company, the columns have prices, totals and percentage calculations.

Two colors, (see the photo on my home page) the white cells is where you input your information, the green cells are where the magic happens.

Using our proprietary, copyrighted design you can see where you are heading and where you might be financially in a few years.

Why you need this

This sheet forces you to think about a company’s long term growth prospects.

Where is it likely to be in five years? Is it likely to prosper?

What is the projected CAGR?

What makes the company unique, what is the narrative, who is their competition, what is their moat?

What do people say about the sector, the industry, and what does your favorite AI Chatbot think?

And you will have one place to put down all that priceless information you’ve gathered.

Conclusion

I have been using my sheet for a few months now and I really do love it.

Watching someone on TV talking about the prospects for one of my stocks,

I wonder, how much of it do I own, what am I projecting?

I pull out my phone, click on my sheets app and in seconds I have my answer.

This is pretty cool I think and smile.
